Application of Computational Observatory for MEXT competitive fund. November, 2003 Tokyo.
●November 7, 2003 In front of University of Tokyo Press. After submission for printing of our proposal “Computational Observatory” for Tokute-Ryouiki, MEXT. From left, Izumi Hachisu, Tomo Suzuki, and Aki. This was the third time to submit for this subject and was the last time. We used a plenty of time for preparing the document for the applications. Most of preparation was done at U. of Tokyo. I have to visit very frequently there. I am laughing after so messy job.
	●November 18, 2003 Submission of over 60 copies of our application booklet to officers of MEXT at MEXT headquarters, Kasumigaseki, Tokyo. Suzuki and Yokoyama are submitting.
New Horizens in Molecular Science and Systems: An Integrated Appreoach October 16-18, 2003 Bankoku-Shinryokan, Okinawa, Japan.
●October 16, 2003 Busena Hotel and Beach. I went to Okinawa to attend an international symposium for drumming up the preparation of the new graduate school, OIST (Okinawa Institute for Science & Technology).
	●October 17, 2003 With Professor Jerry Friedman, MIT, the Chairman of Preparation Committee of OIST. He is also Nobel Prize Laureate for Physics in 1980 for experimental evidence of Quark. He wish to make OIST so that 5 different disciplines, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Nanotech, and Computing always exchange and collaborate in OIST. In this new way to clarify the secret of life scientifically, he told me that Physics should be the core discipline.

●September 10, 2003 Edward Teller Medal Award: Dr. L. Suter, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, CA, USA and H. Takabe, Osaka University at Monterey, CA, USA. This medal is sponsored by American Nuclear Society and is awarded to two every two years.

●September 9, 2003 Ray Kidder, one of the pioneers of Laser Fusion. At Monterey, USA.
	●September 9, 2003 Pat McKenty, one of my close friend and leader of theory and computation of LLE, University of Rochester, NY. My calling name “Aki” started when Pat asked me how he calls me at Tucson in 1981. During my stay with my wife in University of Arizona, Tucson, Pat was like our consultant on anything when we have any kind of troubles.
●September 9, 2003 Stefano Atzeni, Professor, University of Rome, Italy. He is one of my close friends and stayed in our institute for three months by accepting my invitation.
	September 8, 2003 Lunch at home of Yuki-san and Peter in Sunny Valley in Silicon Valley, CA. From left, Dr. Ohnishi(Tohoku Univ.), Aki, Peter Hey, Yuki Hey, Maya Hey, and Akira Mizuta. Mizuta-kun worked in LLNL in Livermore in the group of Bruce Remington during his PhD course and came to SF airport to pick up Ohnishi-kun and me. When we stopped at San Jose, I called Yuki-san who I know from my stay in Tucson in 1981. At that time, Yuki and Peter were students of U of A. Peter is now free from everything. He quitted his company, Applied Materials, because the price of his stocks of the company increased 100 times in ten years and he decided to quit working and enjoy his second life.
